Kalang Retreat is a dedicated place for writers, situated in the coastal township of Somers on the Western Port Bay. Our residents draw inspiration from this unique landscape, often allowing nature to inform their work. With exceptional diversity of fauna and flora, there are new worlds and nearby seaside panoramas to invigorate the imagination.
For those applying for the award, tell us about your work and the creative activities you have planned during your residency at Kalang by sending a 150-word bio, a brief project outline (1/2 page), including up to four pages of poems concerning eco-poetics, natural history or science, botany, birdlife or habitat (no more than 4 pages).
Application deadline by 11.59 pm, Tuesday October 10th 2017
By filling in the application form, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the Kalang Award.
