Australian Poetry 2016 National Program

Sharing with you the extraordinary energy of Australian poetry.

Dear poets, publishers, readers and lovers and admirers of poetry, Australian Poetry’s 2016 program has been inspired by you, and is for you.

It has been developed, with projects accessible in all states and territories, to support your writing if you are a poet, and to also artistically spread the word of your poetry to those who want to read it, see or hear it.

It includes a number of important new initiatives which reflect a revitalised, impassioned vision and spirit within Australian Poetry.

Chief among these is the new, touring Australian Poets Festival Program which means that across 2016 and 2017 this AP curated project will appear at major capital city literary, poetry and emerging writers festivals across Australia.

In another project, piloting late 2016, we create a new 45 minutes podcast, Poetrix, in the ABC Poetica lineage, which will run monthly after its launch in 2017.

This means Australian poetry and poets can be accessed by all lovers of poetry, nationally and internationally, via this podcast.

The 2016 program we offer is rich, genuinely diverse, and caters to all levels of professional development and across poetry genres.

Subscribers also receive many benefits under a new subscriber scheme.

Here’s to a new year at AP: stay tuned via our website, Facebook and Twitter, for details on all projects, programs and poetry events across this poetically and culturally vibrant country.

We also invite you to contact us directly with your feedback and ideas.

We want to know what we are doing right for you, and what other plans you might have for us.
