The Australian Poetry Collection is the largest dedicated national library of Australian poetry, past and present.

It comprises a substantial collection of Australian anthologies, individual author collections from poets across Australia; chapbooks and literary journal series and periodicals; newsletters and magazines produced by Australian literary organisations; ephemera such as posters, flyers, concrete poetry and other artwork; and contemporary, new releases.

Presently housed in both Melbourne and Sydney, this valuable collection was donated by the NSW-based Poets Union Inc. and the Victorian-based Australian Poetry Centre.

Australian Poetry is seeking Significance Assessment funding in 2016 from the National Library of Australia to complete cataloguing of the collection.

The Victorian collection, based at The Wheeler Centre, is accessible to the public and can be visited by appointment during weekday hours.

The APC includes the donated collections of The Joyce Lee Collection and The Shelton Lea Collection, and accepts ongoing donations from publishers and poetry collectors.

This is an ongoing project within our LIVE stream.
