What do people have to say about us…

We were blessed to have a Super Poet run a workshop for us that not only taught invaluable lessons in public speaking and the power of an individual’s voice, but also dealt with themes of self-confidence and belief amongst young people. It was incredible to watch the way the kids embraced the challenge!

- Harriet Dwyer, Indigo Night Coordinator  at the Melbourne Youth Justice Centre

I thought it was going to be olden poetry but it was fun!

The “Outloud” initiative by the Australian Poetry Centre, has been a very positive experience so far … The event was beautifully supported, by a “Super Poet” who came to our College and really inspired us.

The “Super Poet”, was able to inform us, in a lively and fun way; with audio visuals, that made the whole thing more “real” for the students.

The energy and enthusiasm from the poet, was great!

- Kim O’shea, Drama Coordinator/Student Recognition Coordinator, Wodonga

It was so funny! I didn’t know poetry was funny.

-Jessica year 4

The enthusiasm and passionate approach of the artists was inspiring. The preparation from the poets was exceptional! A unique and powerful learning opportunity for our students and staff. Thank you.

They (The Super Poets) were absolutely fabulous – all the kids were so engaged and loving every minute. I also personally love the outfits they were wearing!

Excerpt of a review from Literary Life during last years MWF performance series in the Atrium at Federation Square.

I liked doing it in a team. I wouldn´t usually write any poetry.

– Sam year 7

The four most amazing poets

They came to school one day
with a lot to say
oh these weren’t just any poets they were the most amazing of the lot
Sean could use pictures of artwork and turn it into  his own masterpiece
while Ezra got his groove on and made a spectacular poem using music
oh these weren’t just any poets the were the most amazing of the lot
michelle could memorize a poem in just a few minutes and perform in front of everyone
Emilie could find the humour deep within any poem
oh these weren’t just any poets they were the most amazing of the lot
