Entries for the 2019 Wesley Michel Wright Prize are now open.

The prestigious Wesley Michel Wright Prize in Poetry, worth approximately $3500, is open for award to an author or composer of original verse or poetry in the English language and who is an Australian citizen.

Work submitted to the Wesley Michel Wright Prize must be:

– between 50 and 500 lines, excluding titles and footnotes, and have been published in the 12 months prior to the closing date in print or digital book or journal form

– by an author or composer of original verse or poetry in the English language and who is an Australian citizen

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Submit an online application form

2. If the entry/ies are part of a hard copy book, upload the extract/s to your online application form that you would like to submit for judging. Alternatively apply online and mail three hard copies of the book clearly highlighting the lines you are submitting for judging. These books will not be returned.

Entries may be submitted by the authors or by publishers on behalf of the authors. To avoid duplicate entries, we ask that publishers please communicate with the author before applying on their behalf.
