The 2019 Newcastle Writers Festival will run from Thursday 4 April to Monday 8 April.
There are plenty of poetry events in the program, including a workshop, a poets’ breakfast, a bush poets’ lunch, poetry readings and book launches. Many events are free.
Poets participating in the program include Les Wicks, Dael Allison, Anna Couani, Jean Kent, Kit Kelen, Kerri Shying, Beth Spencer, Sarah Crane, Jan Dean, Gabrielle Everall, Eliana Gray, Dominique Hecq, Gail Hennessy, Magdalena Ball, Anna Forsyth, Kate Lilley and Alison Whittaker.
This is the Newcastle Writers Festival’s seventh year. The festival is held in the Civic Precinct of Newcastle City.
