Classical ballerina to edgy poet: an unusual path in the arts
Lauranton Books invites you to Readings St Kilda for a glass of wine and a conversation between poet Jennifer Strauss and biographer Julia Hamer about the life and work of the Australian dancer and poet Anne Elder (1918-1976), who had two careers in the arts at a time when it was unusual for women to have any.
Copies of Hamer’s finely wrought biography The Heart’s Ground: a Life of Anne Elder will be on sale at the event along with a new collection of Elder’s poems, The Bright and The Cold.
