Do you have a piece of writing you haven’t shared with anyone before? Have you always wanted to perform your writing in front of a supportive and engaged audience? Then Silver Words is for you!

Silver Words is a spoken word open mic event, which in common parlance means that you can perform anything that you can speak, rap, yell, whisper or declaim, the only limit being that it’s spoken.

So if you’re just beginning to write or have years of experience under your belt, Silver Words wants to hear from you!

Thursday 30 May 6–9pm at Irish Murphy’s, 21 Salamanca Place, Hobart.

The feature for this month is Jacqui Malins.

Jacqui has featured at poetry events and festivals including the National Festival (ACT), Woodford Folk Festival (QLD), Unspoken Words Festival (Sydney), Girls on Key (Newcastle, Wollongong), Newcastle Poetry at the Pub, The Salt Room (ACT), That Poetry Thing (ACT), Poetry at Manning Clark House (ACT), Enough Said Poetry Slam (Wollongong), and Word in Hand (Sydney), and has won/been a finalist for a number of awards.
