Canberra poet, performer, raconteur and Folk Festival stalwart Laurie McDonald will join us to show the range of his talents.

Andrew McDonald, also from Canberra, is a poet who has been publishing for 40 years (his latest is Night Music, Arcadia 2017). He will read from across his work, including then forthcoming And Now This.

21 May – Not Very Quiet presents: Women Poets Anthologies Panel

A multi-generational panel of poets (Suzanne Edgar, Rosalind Moran, Melinda Smith) read from work by women poets they admire, as well as reading some of their own poems.

28 May – Us Mob Writing for Reconciliation Day

Us Mob Writing is a group of First Nations Australia poets, writers and story tellers, both emerging and established, who are committed to showcasing First Nations writing. Their poetry and prose has been published in many books and journals, including their own anthology By Close of Business.

4 June – John Foulcher + Nicola Bowery

John is an award-winning Canberra poet who will share his recent work with us. Nicola, from Braidwood, has several published collections as well as running very successful poetry workshops.
