Bareknuckle Poet’s third print anthology ‘Best Australian Writing 2018’ will be published in November filling the gap left by the demise of the ‘Best Australian…’ series previously published by Black Inc.

We are proud to announce that award winning author Venero Armanno will be stepping into the ring as short fiction editor. We are now open for submissions of short fiction, creative/non-fiction, essays and poetry.

Each year we dedicate an issue to one of Bareknuckle Poet’s favourite writers to coincide with the anniversary of their most important works, or on the year they left us. This year is the 50th anniversary of the death of Dorothea MacKellar and we will be reproducing some of her lesser known and most intriguing work as a commemoration.

Considering the constraint of publishing a ‘Best Australian Writing’ edition the editorial board is calling for texts written ‘from’ and ‘in’ this country. Submissions for Vol.3 are restricted to the following: Australian citizens, residents of Australia, and refugees incarcerated by Australia.
