WordStorm & The National Poetry Festival 2012

In May 2012, Australian Poetry partnered with the NT Writers Centre to bring you WordStorm and the National Poetry Festival.

To watch videos from the festival online visit the WordStorm website.

The National Poetry Festival is a physical gathering of poets, wordsmiths, readers, writers, slammers, jammers, lyricists, performers, speakers and singers, in one place at one time, to share, discuss, debate, dissect, and draw attention to the succinct selection of words and the order we place them in to make meaning.

This year the festival was held in Darwin, 10–13 May, in conjunction with WordStorm, as a partnership between the NT Writers Centre and Australian Poetry.

Australian Poetry created a Pozible Campaign with the aim to bring The National Poetry Festival online – giving people all over the world a chance to watch the events live.  As a gesture of thanks, those who donated money were given the opportunity to publish a piece of their poetry on our website.
