The Heart Bent

Session Artists
Eunice Andrada is a Filipina poet and teaching artist. Her debut poetry collection Flood Damages (Giramondo Books, 2018) was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award (2019), while her other works have won the John Marsden and Hachette Australia Poetry Prize (2014) as well as been shortlisted for the Fair Australia Prize (2018).
Jacinta Le Plastrier is a poet, writer, publisher and editor, based in Melbourne. She is the chief executive of the national poetry body, Australian Poetry, and publishes the national poetry journal and annual anthology, Australian Poetry Anthology, as well as curating festival events nationally.
David McCooey is a prize-winning poet, critic, and editor. His latest book of poems is Star Struck (UWA Publishing, 2016). His poetry appeared in ten of the last eleven editions of The Best Australian Poems. He is also a sound artist, and his latest album (with Paul Hetherington) is The Apartment (2018).
Felicity Plunkett’s Vanishing Point (UQP, 2009) won the Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Prize and was short-listed for several other awards. Seastrands (2011) was published in Vagabond Press’ Rare Objects series. She edited Thirty Australian Poets (UQP, 2011), and her new collection, A Kinder Sea, is forthcoming early in 2020.
Ellen van Neerven is a Mununjali Yugambeh writer from South East Queensland. Ellen’s books include Heat and Light (UQP, 2014) and Comfort Food (UQP, 2016).
