Melissa Lucashenko is an award-winning writer who lives between Brisbane and the Bundjalung nation. Melissa’s most recent novel is Too Much Lip, a dark comedy was shortlisted for the 2019 Victorian Premiere’s Literary Awards. Mullumbimby, was awarded the 2013 Deloitte Queensland Literary Award for Fiction, won the 2014 Victorian Premiers Prize for Indigenous Writing, and was longlisted for both the Stella and Miles Franklin awards. Mullumbimby was also longlisted for the Dublin IMPAC Literary Prize 2015. Melissa is a Walkley Award winner for her non-fiction, as well as a founding member of Sisters Inside. Stuart Cooke is an award-winning poet, critic and translator based on the Gold Coast, where he lectures at Griffith University. His books include the poetry collections Opera (2016) and Edge Music (2011), as well as a critical work, Speaking the Earth’s Languages (2013), and George Dyuŋgayan’s Bulu Line: a West Kimberley song cycle (2014). In 2017 Stuart was a fellow at Omi International Arts Centre in New York, USA. His translation of Argentinian poet Gianni Siccardi’s The Blackbird is forthcoming was pubished in 2018 and his new collection Lyre is forthcoming from the University of Western Australia Press.

Lucinda Shaw is a multi modal performance maker working across poetry, music, theatre and education. She’s known as lyricist and vocalist with Silver Sircus and ISIS having recorded eight collections of original songs exploring themes of love, life and death, sexuality and the natural world. She’s created environmental drama pedagogy and performed self authored theatre at Judith Wright, Brisbane Powerhouse, La Boite, Metro Arts and apoeared at festivals in Brisbane Melbourne Adelaide and Darwin.

Ozi Jarel is a Ugandan and Sudanese poet & rapper based in Brisbane. He is inspired by his upbringing in an ethnically diverse community and explores the pros of his ancestors through rhythm and intricate word-play. After performing in East-Africa and South-East Asia, he moved to Australia to pursue an Architecture degree. In 2018 Jarel released his debut EP entitled Entities and published his poetry with an article in Australian magazine, Indigo. He continues to use words to paint a timeless picture in the minds of the listeners and the souls of the hearers.
